Mr. Neguse (for himself and Mr. Bacon) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and in addition to the Committee on Homeland Security, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

A BILL

To amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to clarify certain requirements relating to the Nonprofit Security Grant Program of the Department of Homeland Security, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ``Safe Spaces for All Act''.

SEC. 2. DHS NONPROFIT SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM.

Section 2009(c)(1) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 609a(c)(1)) is amended-- (1) in subparagraph (C), by inserting ``, including the hiring of onsite security personnel'' before the period; (2) in subparagraph (D), by inserting ``application for and'' before ``administration''; (3) by redesignating subparagraph (E) as subparagraph (G); and (4) by inserting after subparagraph (D) the following new subparagraphs: ``(E) Hiring of off-duty police officers. ``(F) Hiring personnel to apply for funding under this section, except that such expenses may not exceed 5 percent of the amount of the grant.''. <all>
